Our Roots: Mangoes That Built a Family 

The story of Gogate Hapus doesn't start with a business plan; it starts in a sprawling family home in Valkuwadi, Jamsande, deep in the heart of Devgad. Generations ago, our great-grandfather Moreshwar Gogate sparked a family tradition by gifting kalam (mango saplings) to neighbors and friends, encouraging everyone around him to plant the native 'Hapus' (Alphonso).

For decades, the Gogate family lived as one massive joint family—at times with over 40 people across three generations living under a single roof. While our family has since grown and built their own homes nearby, that old house remains the center of our universe during festivals, and the mango orchards remain the tie that binds us to the red soil of Devgad.

The Pioneers of Devgad Hapus

Our family didn't just grow mangoes; we helped share them with the world. Our great-uncle, Shriram Gogate, pioneered 'Gogate Amba Service', which became the lifeline for Devgad farmers sending their fruit to Mumbai. Meanwhile, our grandfather, Pandurang Gogate, a true farmer at heart, dedicated his life to the soil—establishing flourishing orchards for our family while also undertaking contract farming to help others cultivate their own land.

This agricultural legacy was carried forward by my uncle, Padmakar Gogate. For over 35 years, he was the driving force behind the farms, tirelessly managing and expanding the orchards. He nurtured the trees with deep devotion before passing the baton to his son, Prasanna, few years ago.

While my uncle focused on nurturing the soil, my father, Jaydev Gogate, focused on sharing the harvest. In the 1990s, he started 'Gogate Transport', becoming one of the very first to bring authentic Devgad Hapus directly to Pune. Today, we are proud to revive that specific legacy: bringing the absolute best of our family's Devgad farms straight to your homes.

Tradition Meets Modern Science

While this website is an independent husband-and-wife venture, the soul of our product lies in the hands of our cousin, Prasanna Gogate.

Prasanna represents the perfect blend of ancestral wisdom and modern agricultural science. Armed with BSc and MSc degrees in Agriculture from Dapoli, he oversees our ancestral farm alongside his own expanded orchards, managing over 4,000 trees and a dedicated workforce of more than 200 people.
